FUND RAISER STEP UPS CHALLENGE 1 HOUR 1st PRIZE 100 pound 2nd prize 50pound
6 members Kris Coulter, Darren Dunlop, Gary Kelly, Cameron Blair, Craig Burgess and David Marshall all were to do 10 minutes each on the step up the total at the end of the challenge came to 3694 step ups in total the winner of the guess the right total was MEGAN BAIRD of DRONGON with 3695 who is on JOHN MALONES SHEET wins the 100 pound 1st prize, and C SCOTT with 3697 on BILLIE ROSS form wins the 2nd prize of 50pounds. congratulations to the winners and a special thanks to all who took part, especially the guys who did the challenge it was a tough one

WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS MALAYSIA.
Kris Coulter the Assistant Chief Instructor of the Sakai Karate Club will also travel out with the 23 team members to the World Championships as Assistant Coach to Gerry Fleming who is the Head Coach,congratulations to everyone.

JUNIOR - CADET -U21 CUP WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS MALAYSIA 13-16 OCTOBER
4 members of the Sakai Karate Club Darren Dunlop u21 under 68 kilo, Samantha Nicol womens 16-17 years under 59kilo, Adam El Shafei 14-15 years under 52kilo and Gary Kelly 16-17 years men under 67 kilo, have been selected to travel to the World Championships taking place in Melaka Malaysia the 23 team members will travel out on Monday 10th of october compete 13th - 16th October and return on the 17th October.

We will be holdind a Kata developement class for Black and Brown Belts in St Matthews Church Hall on Saturday 26th of March we have invited Mark Marshall former Scottish and British Champion and competitor at European and World Championships to take the Class if you want to improve your Kata then dont miss it places are limited.

SAKAI JUNIOR DEVELOPEMENT COMPETITION SATURDAY 19TH MARCH
The next junior under 16 developement competition will take place on Saturday 19th March in St Josephs Leisure Centre Grassyards Road New Farm Loch Kilmarnock,the competition will be to develope our young athletes in the rules and tactics of competition fighting, the event will start at 1:15pm and admission for spectators will be £2:00

GRADING SATURDAY 12TH MARCH 2011ST JOSEPHS
Sakai Karate club held the First dan grading in St Josephs on Saturday 12th March four candidates were up to be promoted to 1st Dan Tom Rainey, Gary Kelly,JJ Hawkshaw and Ryan Longrigg, Due to ill health Tom Rainey could not make the grading,Gary JJ and Ryan were all successful in attaining their 1st Dan a great credit goes to them as the grading lasted 3 and a half hours with kihon(Basics), kata and Kumite,David and Kris Coulter the grading examiners were delighted with the Performances from the Guys and congratulate them on their fighting spirit,technique and ability well done

BELGIAN OPEN 12 - 15 NOVEMBER LUEVEN BELGIUM
Sakai karate club will travelling to the Belgian open on the weekend of 12-15 November with 11 competitors 1 coach , the money raised from the bag packing and punching will be used to fund the athletes. £1709.28 has been used on flights, good luck to all travelling,Shahbaz Mirza, Darren Dunlop,Cameron Blair ,Nicola Rainey, Jordan Malone,Gregor Malone,Kevin Weir,Gary Kelly, Natalie Nicol,Samantha Nicol and Adam El Shafei Kris Coulter will be the coach travelling.
