IMPORTANT
Kilmarnock will open in The GRANGE ACADEMY as STJOSEPHS WILL BE CLOSED
And will reopen on Tuesday 20th July Thursday 22nd July & Saturday 24th July  all at the normal times in GRANGE ACADEMY
ONCE THE SCHOOLS REOPEN THE CLASSES WILL RESUME BACK TO ST JOSEPHS
ON TUESDAY 17th AUGUST .THURSDAY 19th AUGUST AND SATURDAY 21st AUGUST

In the past we have tried to open the Classes before the end of the School
Holidays without success so this year we will be closed for the full duration of the break, if you want to train, the classes in St Josephs in Kilmarnock will be on after the Kilmarnock Fair. If you are interested in
Training in St Josephs my phone number is at the top of the page, or if there is enough interest in putting the classes on in Mauchline ,Hunter Centre, and Shortlees we will restart before the end of the Holidays

European Senior Championships Athens
Craig Moffat and Darren Dunlop have both been selected to represent Scotland at the European Senior Championships in Athens Greece in May,Craig will be competing in the mens under 75kg event and Darren will compete in the mens under 67kg category both will also be members of the 5 man Team.

Fund Raiser
On Saturday the 3rd of April Sakai Karate Club were in Marks and Spencers Kilmarnock bag packing to raise club funds, thanks goes out to all who gave up their time to help out , kids adult members and parents in total we raised £1150:24 ,a special thanks goes to Isabel Nicol for arranging it with Marks and Spencers , Hugh Nicol John Malone and Jane Malone for their help throughout the day which is greatly appreciated.

SAKAI KARATE CLUB MOVING PREMISES
The main Dojo of the Sakai Karate Club will be moving all classes from the Grand Hall London Road Kilmarnock to the the New St Josephs High School Grassyards Road Kilmarnock, all the classes will take place at the normal times, the club has been associated with the Grand Hall for the Last 30years and will be sorry to leave as there has been a lot of history attached to the Garnd Hall.

Fund Raiser Sponsored Row Saturday 6th March 2010
On the 6th of March 6 of our Elite Athletes participated in a 1 hour sponsored row to raise funds for our Team the event took place in the Kilmarnock Weightlifting Club in Shortlees Communty Centre,our thanks to Chic Hamilton for the use of the facility.
Our 6 rowers had the challenge to row as many metres in 10 minutes to make up the 1 hour,the rowers were David Marshall(2432metres) Shahbaz Mirza (2626metres)Gary Kelly(2553metres)Darren Dunlop(2504metres) Cameron Blair(2502Metres) and Teri Coulter(2432metres) this gave a combined total of 15,167 metres covered in 1 hour

winner of the £100:00 was Mrs P Turnbull(Shaun Turnbulls form)
Runner up for £50:00 was Hilda Truesdale(Lewis Hoods Form)
In total we raised £1253,Sakai would like to thank all who filled in the form and participated in the event,as the money raised will be used to fund our Athletes in competing in prestigious events at home and abroad.once again thank you.

Grand Hall Refurbishment

Due to the refurbishment of the Grand Hall the head Dojo of the Sakai Karate Club will move to temorary prmises until the end of April, Tuesdays we will be in St Josephs High School Grassyards Road New Farm Loch Kilmarnock at the normal times, Thursdays will be in the Henderson Church London Road Kilmarnock ,and the classes will also take place in the Henderson Church on Saturdays.

World Cadet, JUNIOR WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS RABAT MOROCCO 12-16 NOVEMBER 2009
Gary Kelly has been selected to represent Scotalnd at the Championships that will take place in Rabat Morocco between the 12th & 16th of November , Gary will be competeing the Cadet 14 -15 years under 57kilo, were hopeing Gary can produce the form he had in Paris to take a Bronze medal.

JUNIOR DEVELOPEMENT COMPETITION SATURDAY 27th JUNE 2009
The next Junior under 16 Youth Developement Competition will take place on Saturday 27th June in the Grand Hall London Road Kilmarnock

AMSTERDAM OPEN SATURDAY 13th JUNE 2009
Gary Kelly,Paul Haswell and Cameron Blair Competed in the 1st Amsterdam Open on Saturday 13th of June in Amsterdam,Gary Kelly fought his way through 3 rounds to the final of his pool the quarter finals where he was narrowly beaten by a strong Dutch boy ,who went on to the final, this meant Gary came back in the repercharge,he would have 2 fights to gain 3rd place, Gary won his first contest in the fight for 3rd he was beat again by a strong Dutch boyin a great match,Paul Haswell was beat in the 3rd round but fought very well ,Cameron Blair was unlucky to be beat in the first round when it went to an extention with his Welsh opponent, 9 countries attended the event that was organised by the Topkarate Amsterdam Club,

CUMBRIA OPEN CHAMPIONSHIPS CARLISLE SUNDAY 14th JUNE
The Cumbria Open Championships will take place in Sands Liesure Centre Carlisle The event is run by Doug James this is the 35th year of the event ,14 competitors will attend the competition.Kris Coulter will be the Coach in attendance

1st AMSTERDAM INTERNATIONAL OPEN UNDER 18years
The first Amsterdam Open will take place on Saturday 13th June in Amsterdam 3 Fighters from Sakai will attend the event Gary Kally 14-15 years under 57kgs, Paul Haswell 16- 17years under 67kgs and Cameron Blair 16-17years under 75kgs.David Coulter will travel as coach with the boys.

The next Scottish Grand Prix will take place on Sunday 7th June in Wishaw Sport Centre

RACE NIGHT AND DISCO KILMARNOCK RUGBY CLUB SATURDAY 14th MARCH
A great night was had by all who supported the race night to raise money for the club funds, A big thanks goes out to everyone who attended and helped to raise £1450, the money will go to help with expenses incurred in travelling to competitions at home and abroad, thanks go out also to the people who made the night a success,Kris Coulter especially who was the main person who arranged the Hall,Disco the Race organiser ,tickets and sponsors for all the races, Janet Coulter for the fantastic Buffet, Caroline Bell for her Help in the kitchen,Mark McCall, Stuart Dean, Kevin Hay and Drew Cargill for the help with the race tickets, Teri Coulter with sale of the Raffle tickets.


BRITISH UNIVERITY CHAMPIONSHIPS SHEFFIELD 14th & 15th MARCH

Bechelli have just returned from the British University Championships held in Ponds Forge Sheffield, Craig won his weight category Mens senior under 75kg and Christina won the Womens Junior Grades,Congratulations to both of them.
