SCOTTISH GRAND PRIX SUNDAY 22nd JUNE WISHAW
The Scottish Grand Prix will be held on Sunday the 22nd of June this is the secnd event of the year, with another two events to go.
CUMBRIA OPEN CARLISLE SUNDAY 15th JUNE
The Cumbria Open will take place on Sunday 15th June in Carlisle we will be participating in the event.
Commonwealth Championships 31st May 1st June Meadowbank Edinburgh
The Commonwealth Champiponships will take place on Saturday 31st May and Sunday 1st June in the Meadowbank Stadium Edinburgh 13 Countries will be attending the event with over 1000 competitors this is the largest ever competition to be held in Scotland we will be Supporting the event with over 30 competitors
Selection for the World University Championships Poland
Craig Moffat travelled down to London the week after his paticipation in the European Senior Championships in Estonia to try out for the British Universities Team ,he was successful in being picked for the under 70kg event and the Team also from Scotland Selected are Lisa Cairns, Calum Robb and Glen Mundell,The championships take place July 2008 in Wroclaw Poland congratulations to them all.
KIDS COMPETITION SAT 17th MAY GRAND HALL KILMARNOCK.
The Kids competition took place on Saturday 17th May in the Grand Hall Kilmarnock the event was a great success with 102 competitors taking part .David and kris would like to thank all the referees and table officials that gave up their time to officiate,to the parents for supporting the competition,and to our medical back up Doctor Young

EUROPEAN CHAMPIONSHIPS 2nd 3rd 4th May 2008 ESTONIA
Three people travelled from the club to the European Championships David Coulter as National Coach along with, Steven Rooney and Craig Moffat who were Competing in the event , the full party consisted of twelve people travelling,Gerry Fleming was Head National Coach , The Individual events took place first with Steven Rooney being unable to compete in his event due to unforseen circumstances Craig Moffat fought in the under 75kg Category drawing a fighter from the Armenia who he beat 3 to 1 the next round he fought a fighter from Romania
Craig was beat by 4 0 The other members of the party fought veryy well with four getting to the quarter Finals,The Team event was on the Sunday Scotland drew France in the first round of the Mens event, what a match match one was Glen Mundell who was beat by 4 0,2nd fight Calum Robb won his match by 1 0,3rd figt Craig Moffat beat his French oponent by 5 0 yes 5 0
4th match Frankie Murphy our smallest guy in the Team got the biggest guy in the French Team he held on for a glorious draw 0 0. 5th fight Steven Murray the last fight ,the French had to win by 3 clear scores to take the match but Steven held on and drew the fight 0 0,Scotland were through to the next round where we were matched against Spain unluckily we were beat by the Spanish Team who were to clever for us and beat us to go through to the Final and win it,This brought us back in the repercharge to face the strong Croatia team again what a match
1st fight we got beat 1 0 2nd fight won 1 0,third fight won 1 0 4th fight beat 1 0 5th fight drew 0 0 this made it equal on points, so we had to nominate another fighter to fight Calum Robb beat the Croatian to secure the win to take us into the next round of the repercharge where we met another excellant Team Greece who like Spain were to clever and beat us to go through,The womens team got Ukraine in the first round and were nrrowly beat 2 1, although we did not win a medal the performance in the Team especially was outstanding,well done everyone
COMPETITION CLASS.
The next competition class will be held in St Mathews Chapel on 10th of may from 2-4 pm,the class will be invite only.
SCOTTISH TEAM POOL 27th APRIL.
The next Scottish Team Pool will be held at Ratho Outdoor Adventure Center from 11-1pm.
SCOTTISH INTERNATIONAL OPEN 19-20TH APRIL.
We took 28 fighters to Meadow Bank Stadium Edinburgh.The competetion had over 600
competitors from 12 countries.Sakai top fighter was Gary"spider"Kelly who took the gold medal in the boys 12-13 category beating a strong fighter from Latvia. Teri Coulter was the womens top competitor taking the silver medal after a long rest from competing narrowly beaten by France in Final.

David Coulter has been awarded his 6th Dan in a ceremony at the Scottish Championships the Scottish Karate Governing Body Awarded David his 6th Dan for the work and services he has contributed to Scottish Karate, David was delighted with the award
CHILD PROTECTION OFFICER TERI COULTER 
Teri Coulter has been appointed the Child Protection officer for our Association the Sport Karate Sakai,as is required by the Governing Body (S.K.G.B.) our Child Protection Policy will be posted on the Website as soon as it is made available.

SCOTTISH INTERNATIONAL OPEN
The Scottish International Open will take place in Meadowbank Stadium Edinburgh on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th April,Sakai will be participating in this prestigious event, the French National Team will be entering the competition,the event is open to all categories Adults men and women also Cadets, and children under 16years.
SELECTIONS EUROPEAN SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS TALLIN ESTONIA
 
Steven Rooney and Craig Moffat are selected to represent Scotland at the European Senior
Championships taking place in Tallin Estonia on the first weekend in May,Craig will be in the under 75kgs event and Steven will participate in the under 65kgs category,Steven and Craig will be part of the Scottish Team entered.
